For Los Angeles residents who want to “go green” and save money at the same time, Sungevity has started a new program: the LA Solar Lease Program. Designed specifically for Los Angeles city and county residents, the program aims to help people save money on electricity by turning to solar power.
"We are excited to be able to offer the residents of LA the opportunity to go solar with the best service in the business," said Danny Kennedy, President and co-founder of Sungevity. "We have already sold more than 200 leases around California and have a long list of happy customers from the years before we offered the lease. Our mission is to make solar accessible and affordable for everyone, everywhere and the LA program marks an important step for us in making that happen."
US Bancorp provided the financing for the lease as part of a $24 million arrangement with Sungevity as announced in March. The program does not require residents to put any money down and has a 20 year term for return on the rebate program with the LA Department of Water and Power. Sungevity guarantees savings and provides free monitoring, maintenance, cleaning and insurance for the solar system during the lease.
To help customers realize their solar potential, Sungevity has an online quote system, which, through the use of satellite images an aerial photography, can access customer’s roofs and determine their solar potential.
