Shanghai, China ― October 15, 2014 Coveme attended the World Solar Congress 2014, a high profile meeting wher senior management from the PV supply chain meet with each other to discuss the newest technologies and market trends. The Congress is designed to create collaborations on strategic developments in PV manufacturing and new solar projects. Mr. Fabio Menicanti, General Manager of Sales Asia, and Mr. Giorgio Longoni, Business Manager Photovoltaic Division gave speech at the event, sharing market experience in China’s backsheet market and technology roadmap of Coveme. Over 30 leading manufacturers, suppliers, partner institutions and government representatives attended the event.

“China is definitely the market focus of PV companies” said Mr. Fabio Menicanti “ with 70% of the world’s PV modules manufactured in China, and the demand of backsheet products reaching 20 million square meters per month, the market has huge potential. In order to meet with this demand, Coveme is planning significant investment in China, not only in production but also in R&D. By Q1 of 2015, Coveme plan to expand the production capacity of the Zhangjiagang factory to 5 million square meters per month. Furthermore Coveme will also expand its lab in China and bring in more R&D expertise in local market.

Technology leadership has always been Coveme’s priority. In the presentation, Coveme shared several technological issues which are currently hot in the industry. According to different technological requirement, Coveme has introduced backsheet solutions that covers a wide range of harsh environment and installation requirements such snail trace issues, heat dispassion issues and high reflectivity issues. Coveme is the first to commission the Fraunhofer Institution to conduct a study into the snail trail susceptibility issues. “Currently the PV industry is in a phase wher several technologies and ideas are raising up with two important targets: increase the PV module efficiency and decrease the total PV module cost.” said Mr. Giorgio Longoni, “Whatever ideas we might have from the backsheet maker point of view the key point is always one: everything must be combined with quality and durability, because the background for every solutions is to last 25 years....and with cost otherwise it cannot be a real solution affordable by the market”
